Fate?

5 Thoughts as of 5:47pm, Wednesday Evening

1) That sarongs are damn comfy…Now I know why Nords was obssessed with them last Ramadhan…too bad…now I am holding this sarong ransom…hahaha
2) Wouldn’t it be easier if one can clone oneself…then choices and decisions won’t have to be so hard…There will be one very angelic version of me, one really baddddddd version, one party animal, one of each category that I can think of…bwhahaha
3) Crikey! I slept with my lenses and I am still wearing them now…oops…
4) To please everyone is impossible even at the extent of displeasing oneself…What do you think?
5) Sometimes I feel like I am suffering from the Peter Pan syndrome…I want to be my mummy’s and papa’s little girl forever…Growing up sucks!

Was having a fag…okay…maybe 2…with my lil bro Nonoh Joe Hamid yesterday after breaking fast, in front of 118, surrounded by the ciggie butts on the floor courtesy of moi, the beautiful noise from the passing cars and the wonderful smell of trash from the 2 green bins in front of me…

Fate…something that is perplexing to the both of us…

What is defined by it?
I agree with what lil Nonoh said…that the major ‘landmarks’ that we come across or chanced upon in our lifetime are fated…

What about mistakes? especially the ones that we know are wrong…were we fated to commit those mistakes?

One last question…

Can we fight fate if we know what is fated for us?

not sure if the questions posed are meant to be answered, but I would like to speak my thoughts out (only on the last question though). I believe fate is made up of a string of choices. One can change fate, by opting for something else along the line and putting in effort to change it, but not sure if one can fight fate. I don’t know, after all it depends on how one sees ‘fate’, and the different views to it can perhaps be seen in words like ‘change’ and ‘fight’. Perhaps too, fate gives a completely new meaning to new/different encounters in life. But anyhow if you decided to read up on fate and found some really good articles on it, do let me know, yah!

Oh by the way, (this has got nothing to do with your questions on fate and the like though, just something general) early this year Kenji was asked by some S’porean muslims if he believed in fate, and he simply replied, “we japanese don’t believe in fate”. He also told me that admitting ‘fate’ is like surrendering to circumstances, which I guess is very much an attitude of the Malay people.

So perhaps more things to ponder on now, eh? I guess me too…

hhhmmmm…I guess believing in fate in this case is to a certain extent more cultural than religious?

That is what I always feel about linking everything to fate…it’s like surrendering without putting a fight but on the other hand it might be ‘fate’ that caused one to react in a certain way…

    ah well…
